Nick found Nikki at the Mexican bar, and Nikki shared with Nick that Victor was gone. Nick and Nikki spoke to the authorities about widening the search parameters, but they informed them that they'd given up and issued Victor's death certificate, since no one could have survived the wild storm. Michael caught Adam sitting in Victor's office chair. Adam stated that now that he was in charge of Newman Enterprises, there were going to be some major changes. Adam presented Michael with a fax of Victor's death certificate from the Mexican authorities. Adam's first order of business as head of Newman was firing Neil. Michael replied to Adam that as executor of the will, he was going to contest it in court and say that Victor wasn't mentally stable when he appointed Adam head of the estate in his will. Upon hearing that Neil was fired, Karen gave Adam a piece of her mind and then quit. Victoria called Nikki and asked her to come back to Genoa City as soon as possible. Just as Nick and Nikki were about to leave Mexico, the bartender received a call saying that a body had just washed up onshore and the authorities needed Nikki to identify it. Chloe and Cane arrived at the judge's office to get their marriage license, but had to wait around for the judge to come back. Cane erupted and admitted to Chloe that if he didn't want to be a proper man to her and the baby, he'd put her on a plane and never speak to her again. Chloe burst into tears. Devon confided in Lily that he thought Ana should go away to music school. Ana overheard and clung to Devon, saying that she didn't want to go. Later, they convinced Ana go to away to music school.
